About Kita-Kon's History :

Kita-Kon is run by a enthusiastic group of students and professionals. It was originally held at Lakehead University in 2007 as a small get together for local fans. By the next year it had moved to the Victoria Inn and had grown to include a vendors room, panels, and more contests.

About Kita-Kon Policies :

Policies are subject to changes. If there are major policy changes they will be released on the news page, new changes will also be underlined for an amount of time on this page. Please be aware that breaking these policies may result in attendee memberships being canceled and/or the inclusion of law enforcement if necessary.

Rules of Conduct :

-- These rules are in place to insure a safe and fun environment for Kita-Kon Attendees. The following is not allowed at Kita-Kon --

1) Any type of destructive or unsafe behavior that may cause harm to Staff, Public, or Venue.*

2) Any type of Harassment. This includes Sexual, Verbal, or Physical Harassment.*

3) Possession of Illegal substances such as Drugs, Weapons, ect.*

4) Engaging in any activity that is Illegal under the Criminal Code of Canada.*

5) Thunder Bay has a smoking ban in public buildings. If you wish to smoke you must go outside.*

Registration and Badge Policies :

1) After registering you are aware and agree to the terms on this policies page. Breaking policies can be illegal or can get your membership taken away for the rest of the convention.*

2) Badges must be worn at all times. Failure to display your badge will get you removed from the event. If you lose or find a badge please inform a staff member.*

Photography Policies :

1) Photography is allowed in all convention spaces with the exception of the Dealers and Artist Alley rooms. During events please keep flash photography to a minimum.*

2) Before taking a picture of an attendee please ask for their permission. During events photography is allowed as long as flashes are kept to a minimum.

Dealers and Artist Room Policies :

1) As stated above there will be no photography in the Dealers and Artist room.*

2) Bags will not be allowed inside the Dealers and Artist room. You may check your bag at the room entrance.*

Event Cancellation Policies :

1) If KitaKon is cancelled due to lack of interest all memberships will be refunded and returned.*

2) If an event is canceled that requires additional payment those funds will be returned.*

Liability :

1) It is not the responsibility of Kita-Kon Staff or the Venue if anyone is injured or if property is damaged or stolen during the course of this event. Attendees will be held responsible for their actions.*
